English is getting more and more important nowadays, maybe one day it will be like breath. <br /> Many English students are learning English just for fun, but more than that English is very important and it worth learning!<br /> <span class="fullpost"><br /> It's time to show this truth: you're learning English that's the reason you're reading this article, right? So, why are you learning English? Finding the right word

This post is also about English vocabulary. How many times did you try to talk to a native English speaker and your problem was that you couldn't find the right word?<br /> <br /> Maybe you haven't thought about it yet, but today I want you to think about it.<br /> <span class="fullpost"><br /> If you think that you are alone, I'm sure that many other students had the same problem. Learn Basic English vocabulary

English vocabulary is huge, nobody can know it all, even native speakers!<br /> <br /> So, never be upset when you don't understand the meaning of a word, because you probably know hundreds of other words.<br /> <br /> Yes, never be upset when you don't understand a word, but sometimes it worth it!!<br /> <br /> If you studied English for more than three months and you don't understand the meaning of one of the basic words, it's really something bad!!!<span class="fullpost"><br /> <br /> Many English students know tens of so complicated words and business words that we almost never use, and they fail to understand a simple and basic word. Why?<br /> <br /> The main problem is because they didn't go step by step. Do you know what is step by step?<br /> <br /> Step by step means that they should know simple words first, when they get familiar with them, they should try to learn more complicated vocabulary up to the point they learn a big number of new English words. Never be nervous with English

When learning English, many students join English schools. The first days, most of them have struggle because of many things. Present tense in English

English listening stuff

To speak English easily, the first thing you should know is the right method. After knowing the right method, you can act using different techniques, different English material and of course you should know how to use the time.<br /> <br /> I've always said that the key to English speaking, or to spoken English is "Listening". Without listening to English, I don't think that you'll go far!<br /> <br /> I was reading one of my old articles at <a href="http://fastest-english.blogspot.com/2010/06/10-tips-to-improve-your-english.html">10 tips to improve your English pronunciation</a>, and all of the sudden I saw a strange comment written by an Anonymous reader. He said: "i don't have thing for listening?". What is casual English?

In the last article <a href="http://fastest-english.blogspot.com/2010/07/everyday-english.html">Everyday English or Formal English</a>, I talked about which English should an English learner learn first.<br /> <br /> I said that this depends on your English learning goals, but if you don't have a goal the best choice is to start with "casual English", but in both cases if you learn the two is better.<br /> <br /> If you didn't see the previous article, I highly recommend that you go to the article here <a href="http://fastest-english.blogspot.com/2010/07/everyday-english.html">Everyday English or Formal English</a> and read it first.<br /> <br /> Well, in this article we are going to talk about the differences between Casual English and Formal English.<br /> <br /> The first difference between the two, is the use of each of them. Formal English is being used in Academic situations, for example if you write an academic letter, you should not use slangs and informal English!!!<br /> <br /> A second use of formal English is with people you don't know very well, or older than you, but this one is going to disappear step by step.<br /> <br /> Casual English is used everywhere, for example if you have some friends, you won't use formal English when taking with them. Also when you talk to your parents...etc<br /> <br /> Casual English is more used than formal English. If you speak formal English in no Academic situations, people will immediately see you as a strange person. Everyday English or Formal English

As many languages, English is divided to Formal English and Informal English.<br /> <br /> Formal English is the one used in schools, when you write letters....<br /> <br /> Informal English is the one spoken in everyday life. Native speakers, American children speak this kind of English. Informal English is also called "Casual English" or "Everyday English".<br /> <br /> For you as an English student: which English should you learn? Everyday English or Formal English?<br /> <br /> Well the answer is very simple: the best decision is to learn both!<br /> <br /> Many English students confuse this question ( which English should I learn: formal English or informal English?) with: which English should I start to learn first?<br /> <br /> For the first question, the answer is simple: learn them both.<br /> <br /> But for the second question, there are more details:<br /> <br /> Well, it is a little bit difficult to decide whether you should start with casual English or formal English. Some English teachers say: "start with formal English, so you can get a job, writer administrative letters..." and some other English teachers say: "no, start with everyday English, so you can speak like an American or like native speaker, you can understand native speakers..."<br /> <br /> For me, as an English teacher, I won't tell you to start with formal English or informal English, but I'm going to tell you, according to your case, which English should you start with:<br /> <br /> What is your goal when you're learning English? why are you learning English? are you learning English for business? for your studies? to get the TOEFL? to speak English?<br /> <br /> As mentioned, it depends only on you. I'm going to explain some details for you and I think you will immediately decide yourself which English you should learn:<br /> <br /> If your goal is to pass an English test, for example to get a job, I mean a formal test of course, then you should learn formal English and once you get a good level, you start to learn casual English.<br /> <br /> If your main goal is to speak with native speakers then you should start with everyday English and once you speak like native speakers, you start to learn grammar and formal English.<br /> <br /> OK, and if you don't have a goal, or you don't know what to do?<br /> <br /> If you have time (you're just learning English to have fun) and you don't care if you learn formal English first or casual English, I recommend that you begin with "everyday English". I chose this for two reasons:<br /> <br /> 1-When an American child starts to learn English, he first learns everyday English, and once he can handle it, he starts to learn grammar and formal English.  And remember our rule: you should learn English like children.<br /> <br /> 2-Even in business nowadays, they don't use formal English. Formal English is going to be useless step by step. Try to listen to English radios or to the News and you will see that the English they are using is not formal; they're using casual English!<br /> <br /> If you can't know which English they are using, you probably don't know what Formal English and Informal English really are! That why in the next article I'm going to talk about the differences between Formal English and casual English, with examples... You will finally know which English someone is using when he speaks... For example, if your word is hotel, you can add "room, bed..."<br /> This is very easy, if you chose a theme as I said.<br /> <br /> <h3> 5) English words with the same root:</h3> This is also very powerful, and very easy but you can skip it if you don't know or you don't find words.<br /> It consists of finding other English words that have the same root (noun, adjective, verb...)<br /> For example: to travel-->traveling--> traveler-->...<br /> <br /> <br /> <h3> 6) Use the new English words:</h3> If you think that having phrases with new words written in your notebook is enough, you're completely wrong!<br /> you should use the new words you found, you should practice with your English friends (here is the best way to practice English:  <a href="http://fastest-english.blogspot.com/2010/07/speak-english-with-native-speakers.html">speak English with native speakers</a>) <br /> <br /> <h3> 7) Review New English vocabulary constantly:</h3> If you don't review the new vocabulary you learned, it's the same as if you've done nothing!<br /> Reviewing is so much important, The learning method is composed by: understanding, learning, reviewing. Reading in English is very important for everyone who wants to learn English, even though many English teachers want to ignore it!<br /> <br /> It's true that reading is less important than listening to English especially for students who want to speak English, but it is still very powerful.<br /> <br /> I've already said it and I'm going to repeat it: "your first step with English is to determine your goals, do you want to learn to speak English? or do you want to learn to write in English?"<br /> <br /> In both cases reading is very powerful, but what do you have to read to improve your English?<br /> <br /> That depends on the level of English you have, but you should read only texts where you understand about 90% what you read!!!
